January 31, 2010

One of the sweetest baby faces you ever did see! Peyton was here for a short visit today while Grandma & Papa went grocery shopping with Leland.

January 30, 2010

My dinner: a delicious salad with sliced bartlett pears, crumbled goat's milk cheese, green onion, pecans and pear & blue cheese salad dressing. Nate's dinner: Wendy's. To be fair, I did have a handful of fries before the salad.

January 29, 2010

Well, you can tell the girls are gone to their dad's today, as the most exciting thing I have to take a photo of is my new pair of boots!

January 28, 2010

Lukas slept over at our house for the first time last night! He spent the day playing with the girls. I snapped this photo when I saw how nice the lighting was when they were all watching the snow falling outside. You can see how bored Sophie was, as this was probably about the 6th or 7th photo I took!

January 27, 2010

The girls in their new (two dollar!!) t-shirts from Bluenotes. Sadie's says "I'm crushing on you" and is of two pop cans, and Sophie's says "Oh snap!" and is of a crumbling cookie. Myah also got one, which has dice on it and says "That's how I roll." We'll give it to her next weekend when she's here!

January 26, 2010

Sadie finally lost that front tooth that had become so annoying for her! Mommy actually had to pull it out - although it certainly was loose enough that it didn't take much effort to do so!

January 25, 2010

I'm sure we'll be seeing lots of photos of this sort from Miss Sophie throughout the year. She gets in moods where she loves to try to make the weirdest faces possible.

Playing catch up, big time, here! Bear with me!

Girl band, rocking out on a Saturday night to some Beatles Rock Band!

You know the look? The zoned-out, video-game-playing look? That's what this is. Sophie, Myah and Sadie zoning out on a Friday night.

This is a photo of the Scrap Orchard store, showing the newly release "One Love: Reaching Out to Haiti" collaboration kit that I participated in, along with 47 other fabulous digital designers.

January 20, 2010

Today's pic is brought to you by Sophie. She went around the house, snapping random pics for me, as I had yet another migraine. This is a picture of the girls' new art centre in the basement.

Chicken strips, Tasty Taters and veggies. Dinner of champions!

Today is a peek at my desk at work! Complete with umpteen photos of my kids, my iPod, my Horton's coffee, and that big pile of stuff on the left is my "To Do" pile.

Leland snuggled up with Sophie on the couch while they watched "Ni Hao, Kai-Lan" together. Sophie was less than thrilled with this choice of television show, but since Leland seemed to enjoy it, she was willing to sit through it for half an hour!

January 15-16, 2010

So, I missed taking a photo yesterday, January 15th. I ended up with a terrible migraine and was in bed quite early, and didn't exactly worry too much about taking a photo.

I'm not going to stress out about it, and am going to just keep on with this project!

With that, here is my photo for January 16th!

No cream in the house the morning after a migraine meant no coffee for me when I woke up! Nate called from work to see if I wanted him to grab me a coffee on his way home, and I admit I looked forward to that cup of coffee all afternoon!

January 14, 2010

It was a tad bit warmer here today, so the snow that was on the ground melted a bit - just enough to make it perfect for creating a snowman in the front yard! Sophie is putting some of the finishing touches on the snowman that she and Sadie made together.

Sophie and Sadie are all ready to go ice skating at Harmony Square! The girls had NEVER been ice skating before, so we made sure they wore their bike helmets (I think they were a little small on them with their hats underneath!). They both did so great and had LOTS of fun! Next time, I promised them I'd get some skates to join them!

My current reading material - "100 Best Beatles Songs, A Passionate Fan's Guide" - and my two favourite Beatles albums: Sgt Pepper and Abbey Road.

January 11, 2010

It's started to get much colder the past few days (gotta love winter!), so we have had the fireplace on in the livingroom more often. It makes the whole house so warm & cozy!

These are some of Sadie's crafts! She made these very adorable popsicle stick ladies today. My favourite is the one with the pompom hair!

January 9, 2010

I took a little time out to play some Sims 3 today! The girls got me the World Adventures Expansion Pack for Christmas this year. I've been playing Sims now since the original release of Sims 1. Such a nerd, eh?

Sophie had her first day of MindSparklers enrichment today, so was in a very creative mood when she got home from school! She went right downstairs to the art room and made this cute dragonfly. My favourite parts are its springy legs!

Yesterday I posted about the abundance of Christmas chocolates we have in the house right now, and how they tempt me so often throughout the day. Here in all their glory, are said chocolates. The basket holds some Hershey's Kisses (Almond and Candy Cane), Andes Mints, York Peppermint Patties, and mini chocolate bars. This doesn't include anything but chocolates, as we also seem to have an assortment of candy canes, Life Savers and other things on hand!

I got some time this afternoon to play with my nephew Leland and niece Peyton, two of my favourite kiddos in the whole wide world. Peyton (10 months) is getting very brave and walking a few steps at a time, and Leland (21 months) is really starting to get very chatty!

Here are Sadie and Sophie playing Petz Rescue on the Wii. Sadie was having trouble with this particular mission in which you had to press some buttons on the Wii remote at the same time as rotating the remote from side to side. Sophie is apparently the expert so she helped Sadie get past this frustrating part of the game!

January 4, 2010

It was back to school for the kids today! They were very excited to go back, and both had a great day. Here they are coming home with Nate after school.

January 3, 2010

Nate and I had dinner tonight at Montana's. My parents gave us a gift certificate for Christmas, so we decided on a rare kid-free evening to go on a dinner date! I had the 3-cheese sirloin - a rare occurrence since I never order steak unless we eat at the Keg!

January 2, 2010

The first cousin's game night of 2010! We converged at Josh & Cathy's place with Jay and Andrea, Jeannie and Justin and Nicki and J.R. (Cathy's sister and brother-in-law) to play some games, have some drinks and laugh our butts off!

January 1, 2010

The holidays are officially over, and it's time to take down all of the decorations. I always think it seems to take longer to put everything away each year than to put it all up.
